Hexagonal Turquoise and Pink Floral Limoges Box
Hexagonal Turquoise and Pink Floral Limoges Box
Turquoise and pink share the six panels of this hexagonal box, framing a floral design that feels fresh as a spring morning. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, with a palette that lets both colors sing.
Six Sides of Spring
Turquoise brings a cool, watery note while pink adds warmth, and the flowers tie the two together. The hexagon gives the painter several faces to work with, so the design changes a little as the box is turned on the shelf.
Where the Colors Pop
A white dresser, a glass shelf or a bright bathroom vanity shows off the turquoise best. It is a happy choice for a Mother's Day morning, a spring birthday or a friend who just repainted a room in coastal tones. Set near seashell pieces, it takes on a beach cottage feel.

A Craft With Deep Roots
Kaolin, the fine white clay behind Limoges porcelain, was found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768, and the town has been making porcelain ever since.
